CHPS Specifies GREENGUARD Children & Schools
GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is pleased to announce that the GREENGUARD Children & Schools certification has been officially recognized in the CHPS Best Practices Manual Volume III as criteria for low-emitting materials (EQ2.2). The CHPS EQ2.2 criteria addresses the following types of products: all flooring, adhesives, sealants, and concrete sealants; carpet; resilient flooring; wood flooring; paints; thermal insulation; gypsum board; acoustical ceilings and wall panels; cabinetry; desk and chairs; and composite wood products.
CHPS is recognized as a pioneer in developing sustainable guidelines for schools. The CHPS Board of Directors approved the 2006 Edition of the CHPS Criteria at its meeting on August 24, 2006 in San Diego. Acceptance by CHPS demonstrates GREENGUARD’s continued efforts to advance our rigorous standards and to promote the importance of indoor air quality.
Inclusion in the CHPS Criteria is the most recent evidence of GEI's commitment to working with diverse governments and organizations to integrate standards development and certification programs.
